Tutorials / overview
Learn by making a process.
You learn this stuff faster by running it than by reading about it. A process is Goer’s name for one small worker that keeps its own data and reads its own inbox of messages, and making one is the quickest way in. So every tutorial starts with a small program that works, explains the problem it solves in plain words, and only then tells you what Goer calls it. You’ll start with a counter, break it on purpose, change it while it’s running, let it talk to the outside world, and finish with a small app that uses all of it.
Getting started
Install the tool, run the counter with goer run, and read the two short files behind it.
Supervise a failure
Crash the counter on purpose and watch only that one process get restarted.
Change it while it runs
Swap a running process’s code without losing its messages or its data.
Talk to the outside world
Files, networks, and clocks live outside your process. Ports are how you reach them.
Putting it into practice
A small order desk that uses everything so far, plus the live dashboard.
Processes in regular Go
When your data is already ordinary Go, keep it that way and start it with go Native("name").
